Finding the music within is a process of discovery. Students begin with an impression that they want to play guitar. The reason is personal but they all have this common purpose: to play the guitar. In order to express the music within, students need a combination of technique and a library of ideas or music to draw from. When one of these elements is underdeveloped the students creative development is stunted and their expression is limited.
So at Black Belt Music we aim to expose students to as many ideas as possible to cultivate their library of ideas as well as teaching the technique required for them to express their own music.
At the early stages of this discovery process students learn in groups so that they can:
- Share the journey with other students
- Learn in a fun environment
- Learn the technical skills required to play in an ensemble
- Apply their learning in a real life setting
